In recent year, the role of public health care in national health system of Korea is increased rapidly.
To define the role of public health care clearly and to strengthen the public health care, the Law for Public Health Care(LPHC) was enacted on January 2001. Nevertheless, LPHC´s a lot of problems in the process of establishment, significant changes in contents of the first version, limited comprehensiveness.
insufficiency of supportive descriptions, it will contribute to describe the role of public health care and essential health services clearly and to enhance the governing power of Ministry of Health and Welfare to the public health sector, especially public health facilities.
